SCORING A BOUT
Scoring Blow: one delivered with the knuckle part of the glove on the target area with force.
Target Area: the front and side of the head, not beyond the ears and the front of the body, excluding the arms, above the navel and hip bone, not extending rearwards beyond the seam of the vest.
Points: both boxers start each round with 20 points. At the end of the round the boxer gaining the most scoring blows keeps 20 points and the opponent comparatively less.

If a round or bout finishes even, a winner must be nominated. The following are the deciding factors in order of priority: leading off, defence and style.
Scoring blows landed whilst committing an illegal move (holding, etc.) are not counted.
A knock down does not count more than a scoring blow.
A warning penalises the offending boxer by a deduction of 1 point.
